What Documents do I need to Participate?

You will need to sign our Liability Release Form


If participating in fishing activities while on our trip, you will need to purchase a Texas Fishing License

Chihuahuan Desert Climate:

  • Extreme temperatures: over 100°F in summer and below freezing in winter.
  • Consider the weather when packing for your trip.

Packing Tips:

  • For river trips, moisture-wicking or quick-dry materials are ideal.
  • In cold weather, pack multiple layers to easily add or remove for comfort.
  • In hot weather, long sleeves provide the best UV protection.
  • Avoid harmful sunscreens; zinc-based sunscreens are recommended, but clothing coverage is most effective.
  • A wide-brimmed hat is essential for sun protection in the desert.

Water Supply:

  • We provide drinking water from igloo coolers, but do not supply disposable bottles or cups.
  • Participants must bring their own reusable water bottle with a resealable lid.
  • Insulated water bottles are ideal; any resealable container is acceptable.
  • Camelbacks are useful for hiking but often impractical on river trips.

Footwear for River Trips:

  • Proper footwear is essential as you'll be stepping in and out of swift-moving water.
  • Avoid Crocs, flip-flops, or slide sandals as they can easily slip off.
  • Recommended options include Chacos, Tevas, other strap-on sandals, or closed-toe water shoes like Keens.
  • Athletic shoes that can get wet and muddy are also fine.
  • If the water is cold, neoprene or wool socks will help keep your toes warm.
  • For multi-day trips, it's wise to bring a backup pair of shoes or sandals.

Camping Gear for Multi-Day Trips:

  • We can provide camp gear (tent, sleeping bag, ground pad) upon request.
  • However, you’re encouraged to bring your own if you're more comfortable with your sleep system.

Bathroom Accommodations

  • Per our contracts with the National and State Park system, we operate using a disposable toilet system (bucket system) that is set up at camp each evening and remains available until we pack camp the next morning.
  • Clients a have access to  a sanitized hand washing stations on each river trip

What should I do if I need to cancel or reschedule my trip?

We understand that life happens. Please contact our Guest Services team as soon as possible. Cancellations or rescheduling made a month out retain your deposit, and it can be used as credit to reschedule within a year.  After that time, the deposit is non-transferable. We will do our best to accommodate any changes. The balance on the trip is due one week out and is not refundable should your group size drop or you choose to cancel. We will be the call on weather cancellations and in that case only will refunds or reschedules be appropriate.

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

We’re happy to accommodate most dietary restrictions and allergies. Please notify us in advance when booking, and our chef will plan meals accordingly.

Is this trip suitable for children?

Yes! We welcome families and have tailored activities that children of all ages can enjoy. However, please be sure to inform us of any special needs or considerations related to your child’s age, mobility, or health.

Should we tip? How much?

Yes! our guides are the best in the business and work tirelessly to ensure a seamless, enjoyable trip. Gratuity is highly encouraged and the industry standard is 20% of total trip cost. Cash is preferred, but Venmo is acceptable too.

I have mobility issues. Will I be able to participate?

Yes! Our rafts are stable and comfortable, designed for ease of access. We strive to make all activities accessible. Please let us know if you have specific mobility needs, so we can prepare the best possible experience for you.

How many people will be on the trip with me?

We keep our groups small and intimate to ensure a personalized experience. Our trips are typically designed for  2-8. You can also book a private trip for just your group if you prefer.

Can I bring my own Fishing Gear?

Absolutely! If you have a preferred rod, tackle, or flies, feel free to bring them. We also provide all necessary fishing gear for those who need it.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We operate in a region known for its rugged beauty, but we also understand the importance of comfort. If inclement weather arises, we have indoor facilities to keep you safe and comfortable. However, we do recommend bringing layers, rain gear, and sunscreen for unpredictable weather.
